Part of me would like him to be a decent if clueless guy, like “7th Heaven.” Or at lest how I remember it. The other part knows this is going to be a “scratch the surface, he’s the same as Ronald.” Which would be more true to real life. Chrsitianity was trying to reach out, with guitars in churches and Christian rock on the verge of becoming respectable. But the bars are there, even if the cage is designed for enrichment.
Wow, it’s been a while since we seen a Ashleigh focused storyline. And man, I feel bad for Ashleigh. Plus, I got a bad feeling that Jerry is basically a younger version of Ronald. Also, 7th Heaven ran from 1996 to 2007 for 11 years, which is astounding.
Hey, you never know. Maybe this super-religious guy will turn out to just be super-religious, but otherwise a decent guy, rather than a poseur who uses his faith to justify being an absolute prick.
Either this guy will turn out to be actually pretty decent once you get to know him OR he’ll turn out to be a bigoted zealot. I’m starting to notice a pattern here.
