My momma did the same thing to me. Making me watch the shows she watched, some were good.

Aah TV Land. Admittedly, I like Mr. Ed.

I only remember that horse because of the memes!

@MegaJar: Possibly. However, according to Official Baseball Rules, attempting to hit a pitch with anything other than an approved bat, it is ruled a strike. I suppose Mr Ed could hold the bat in his mouth… a sly bunt to the side, a quick gallop to first base… yeah, it could work. 😂

@El-Man: He probably kicked it. According to Google, a horse’s kick can deliver roughly 2000 PSI of force. Which, granted, is only half of the roughly 4000 PSI generated by a full-force baseball bat swing (also according to Google), but still pretty powerful.

I wonder what kind of man Rick would have been in a previous era. I’ve met enough people like him, whose entire life revolves around TV, that I wonder if there’s a term for them.

He mocks it now but give it a few years after he matures, one rainy day and nothing to watch, land on a classic and instant hook. Hell, I watched I Love Lucy on reruns when I was kid and that was around 1994-95. A show from the 50s and yet I still loved it. You’d be surprised what show you think is lame you’d get hooked to.

@ExxorD: It is like he swapped minds with his mother when it comes about Rick.

Pfft. Speak for yourself, Aaron. I myself grew up watching just as much TVLand reruns as I did Cartoon Network, Nick & PBS Kids. & seeing those shows is probably what gave me an affinity/better appreciation to classic shows of the past.

Damn, even Aaron is getting tired of his dad it feels like.

The real question is – how did a horse hit a baseball in the first place?

“Teeners” is a new phrase I shall find an excuse to use.
