Hey, Joel would take “smart mouth” as a compliment.

Well, even if his thinking is backward and outdated, at least Rick’s trying to actually connect with Aaron to let him know where he’s coming from.

Heh the truth hurts, eh Rick?

Granted I see where he’s coming from though, heck were entering into a decade of major changes as of it’s writing and I’m feeling it’s effects and going against the grain myself. Granted I don’t agree with some of his view and I’m more indifferent if understanding to some things. But yeah it just weird how an incoming decade can clash in ya when you were used to living in the previous one. Just a fact of life we gotta deal in and hopefully learn and adapt as we go.

Okay, while this Rick is still a jerk, at least he is more tolerable.

I think that’s where Aaron is gonna draw the line. His own dad dissing his best friend? I personally wouldn’t be too happy with my own father if he was talking down on my own irl best friend. Though that’s just me. Now I know Rick is trying to do right by his son. He just… doesn’t know how. At all.

The ability of having critical thinking skills is where teenagers get their ‘smart mouth.’

Some fairly good insight on Rick’s character. Still a little stuck with a 50s mindset, but I will argue that it’s an improvement from before.

Also, when Aaron is the one providing some clever backsassing, you KNOW you’re a loser.
