I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people celebrating “James and the Giant Peach”s 30th anniversary. It always felt overshadowed compared to Nightmare, and almost seemed like a forgotten classic.
But like all cult classics, the fans always come out of the woodworks when you least expect it. Happy 30th!
Ah, James and the Giant Peach. I have this movie on DVD, and put it on every now and then.
I do hope it eventually gets more recognition and even a re-release.
Also, Eric… I know you wanted to make it more exciting, but perhaps using real bugs, especially some deadly ones (which, how did you get them?), was not the best idea…
I’ve always loved James & I still feel Disney should give it more time of day. But we know they never will because they are ALWAYS putting the peach in NBC’s shadow. As if Nightmare isn’t overhyped, overexposed & overplayed enough already. I mean, look at the Blu-Ray (with poor colorization darkening the colors, using Burton trees in the promos, obligatory showing of the OG Captain Jack & LYING saying that it’s a full-on complete Burton thing) or the Hollywood Studios Movie Magic Projection show (where, even though it’s all about LIVE-ACTION MOVIES, they showhorn in a clip of Jack, which DOESN’T HAVE LIVE-ACTION the same as WFRR, MP or, oh yeah! James!)
Uh, where’d he get a black widow? Cause THAT would cause a panic.

I loved Roald Dahl books as a kid. JatGP was the one book my little sister had before I did.
Everybody’s getting new do’s. Jocelyn, Aaron, I think Steve’s hair has grown a bit recently, and now Eric.

Plus, it’s not like it’s the worst Dahl adaptation ever concieved. (Charlie & the Chocolate Factory US B’way musical, anybody?)

And this time, Jenny did not do anything.
Also, I love Eric’s new look.
Ouch. Sucks to be you Eric.
Bugs are scary, such a reaction is (mostly) valid LMAO
Side note, digging Eric’s longer hair here.
