Yeah, this is pretty much how I felt about Ren & Stimpy too. That series was seriously twisted, not to mention disgusting. Never been a big fan of gross-out humor, which this show had in spades. When they devote an entire episode to — and I quote — “hocking up hairballs”, thaaaaaat’s pretty much when I change the channel.
Yeah figured as much. Cue the nightmares and him getting busted. That said though, I feel for him. Granted it didn’t traumatize me, but even I was like “WTF am I watching?” when I saw this as a kid. I’ll give the show props for pushing boundaries in animation but I ain’t one of those folks who put it on a pedestal of my childhood.
The series got worse as it continued. It was such a promising start.
Eric is so fragile. Maybe they can watch some other cartoon? That Tom and Jerry one about the 3 Musketeers? Of course, they can always watch the news.

Say it, Eric – “My mom is a wise person who knows what’s best for me…”
Honestly, while Ren and Stimpy had moments that made me chuckle, I liked it less and less as time went on.
Once Rocko’s Modern Life premiered, I tended to favor it over John K’s creation
@Mole204: It somehow managed to become even more unpleasant once the most toxic man in animation was fired.

Yeahhhhhh, John K is a VERY acquired taste…even back in “New Adventures of Mighty Mouse” days…
I absolutely anticipated Jenny would dislike the show, unfortunately.
Yeah, Eric is traumatized from watching the show. It’s not for everyone.
