Kevin’s a complex character, but I glad he gets funnily stupid lines like “I’ll walk off the concussion, that paramedic douche didn’t know shit about me.”
“You’re the new Lindsay! Old Lindsay is dead.” I can’t help but feel like this was meant as a lighthearted jab at those readers who were reluctant to trust New!Lindsay, back when the reboot first started.
@Bosda: That trope only works if nobody else is around who can conclusively identify which “twin” is which. That’s clearly not the case here; we’ve got four eyewitnesses who could easily thwart any attempt by Jessica to convince the cops that she’s the “good” twin.
@Bosda: That trope is so hacky and overused, I deliberately went out of my way to avoid it. Everyone in these comments loves trying to predict where my stories are going, so I always try to avoid going the obvious route. Keeps you on your toes.
I’m a tad surprised that you didn’t pop for the “I’m the Good Twin, she’s the evil! NO! I’M the Good twin, SHE’S the evil!” trope.
With Lindsey led away by dimwitted coppers.
Seems that this part of the greater story arc has ended on a high note.
Then again, there are still two strips to fully wrap it up. We’ll see tomorrow if Nick the Prick makes an appearance and foreshadows a more notable, long-term fallout of his and Jessica’s meddling.
Maybe not tomorrow, but definitely further along the line, there will be some nasty run-offs from that big reveal of Lindsey’s past.
Her friends will stick by her side, that is a given. But people who don’t know her that well? Those who don’t know her personally? A display like that orchestrated by Nick and Jessica will definitely leave an impression for months to come.
In the old timeline, this arc was followed by Lindsay struggling with the guilt stemming from her “alpha-bitch” actions.
In this timeline, it will be (more than likely) replaced by her dealing with the school’s tainted perception of her… a figurative fire, probably stoked further by Nick.
It looks like everything is wrapped up, except for the vacuuming. And Lindsey’s rep in front of the school. And Jessica has a LOT of explaining to do. And they’re down one cheerleader outfit, not that it matters. Lindsey has met, and defeated, herself. I guess it’s onto whatever’s going to happen in October.
In a way it’s a shame Jessica is getting sent to the slammer (or X-hundred hours of community service picking up trash by the freeway while Denise meditates like a rock in front of her.) The “silence of the lamb chops” version of her would have made a nice ’90’s nickelodeon/Disney adventures outfit damage’ threat. Nobody really gets hurt etc, but an outfit ruined at the right time means a grade-score can go down.
A happy ending after all. I wonder if the rest of the school is as forgiving as her friends. They may be a few people who treat her differently I assume?
Honestly, Jessica brought her fate upon herself. Had she just learn to let go of her grudge the first time after she was sent to Catholic School, she could have at least built her life back up a bit. But is was her need for power and revenge that cost her everything. Glad that Lindsay friends and boyfriend are understanding regarding Lindsay’s pasts and regrets. Honestly, I would like to see a future arc regarding Lindsay running into Stephanie again and Lindsay learning to find closure and move forward.
Well Lindsay certainly got over that real quick. Gonna be honest, a little disappointed how anticlimactic that was but at least Jessica finally got her just desserts.

So is this the last we’ll see of Jessica?

I would still take it easy, Kevin. Concussions are no joke.

Well, all’s well that ends…. non-hospitalized.
Getting Sideshow Bob vibes from Jessica.
“Attempted murder…. Do they give Nobel prizes for attempted science?”
Jessica, insane with jealousy doesn’t count. Good luck with at least 8x charges of 1st degree assault + others, if not attempted murder.

Well, I am relieved, though I feel this was a bit rushed. But I’m glad the adults and police got here to take care of the situation.
With eyes like that Jessica? You’ll be sitting in a straitjacket in the darkest depths of the psyche ward for the rest of your life.

TheJayster: It might not necessarily be over. There could still be some fallout in future storylines
So Jessica is looking at a life sentence? You’d think she be serving some time before from making threats to bomb the school.

1000TH COMIC!!!!!
