If it wasn’t so tragic a situation, it’d be funny how so many people switched to going with the “recruitment pressure” as a way to find a job. We’d find out just how many Eden Prairie people get swept up in such- wait, where’s Rick and what has he done to the hardware store advertising? 🙂
Can’t wait for Katy’s history class to cover World War II and watch her ask when Charlie Chaplin got into politics.
Sometime ignorance is NOT the best policy…
Mole204: Rick has been written out of this new continuity.
The whole “war in Iraq” aside,, I think the most nostalgic thing about this is Joel writing his essay with a pencil on paper.

Katy in that last panel was exactly how I reacted back when the second Gulf War started. Mind you I was around 11 or 12 at the time that got started.
@Red Rain No character development for her apparently.
Reading this makes me a little sad considering what would eventually turn into a mini World War III in the years following 2001.
Katy, learn to stay updated on current events. Being Oblivious is not good in the long run.
