I suspect that Jacob’s dad is going to show up to rain on Deb’s parade. If this arc plays out similarly to the one from the old continuity, then we need a “person from <insert crazy lady’s name here>’s past” character who can derail this new law by demonstrating to the viewing public just how nuts the whole thing really is. Tina’s mom filled that role in the old continuity, so I suspect Jacob’s dad will do nicely this time around.

Larry King. Oh geez, it’s happening.
Yeah, the previous version did what it did, but I’m hoping for something different this time. (wrong, we’re going down that road. One wall, full speed ahead.) Tina’s origin is Tina’s. Deb’s origin is Deb’s. It would only make sense that JB try something different to fit the different character. That Tina was crazy. This Deb is less destructively crazy, so maybe JB has a different, better?, punchline now. Just guessing. Deb is a better dumb-natured villain then that Tina was. Perhaps his storytelling hasn’t lost any strength for this to be true.
Why limit it to Deb’s mother? Why not put it _all_ on Deb? Embarrassing past style? Dumb ideas on how to protest some inconsequential thing. Being driven to take tv away from Jacob because she was scared of the Alice Cooper episode of the muppets when she was a child? (I don’t have the math on that.) Maybe Denise won’t be the first nudest backstory character. Whatever stuff that would have Tina pee herself laughing. She might be the only Joel-and-friends-centered story character who knows enough about Deb to put the pieces together. If Joel thought that MST3k had snarky commentary, he should be in for a surprise.
Why is Jacob dropping hints? He doesn’t want his mom to suspect anything, does he?
Grrr, stupid HTML escaping. Lemme try that again.

@Jayster: Who knows? If for whatever reason Jacob can’t go back to his father (whoever he is), maybe he can be adopted by the Maxwells!
Jacob is about to snap soon enough.
This boy has had it!
I would like to see Jacob and Joel interact with each other more cause “something” tells me they’ll get along like brothers LMAO
I just love how done Jacob is
Hoo boy, Deb… You’d best be prepared to have your crusade come crashing down on TV~!
