Aw, Kevin’s feeling left out. For characters that had to be replaced for how likeable they were to get out the negative-math, Lindsey is still in the lead.
I’m sensing some level of envy or even jealousy on Kevin’s part. I recall in the original that Kevin was the way he was because Patricia and (sometimes) Brad favored Lindsay over him. Something along the lines of that, I honestly don’t remember too well, but I do know there was some parental favoritism involved.
Either way, it’s a subtle sign that Kevin may actually be more insecure than he lets on.
