@Mole204 Marty’s dad wasn’t recast, but he didn’t actually appear in the other two movies. Instead, they used his likeness without his permission, causing some legal issues.
There’s a lot of iffynes with leaving someone in a timeline that’s going to get overwritten and expecting them to not be swept out with the rest of the deleted probabilities. They recast Marty’s father too, didn’t they? Anyway it could have been explained as more time travel fallout. How do we know that Marty got his same-Marty hand back in BTTF1? We seem to be headed straight to the train heist, but I hope there’s enough time for some Mad Dog Tannen and some Marshal Strickland too. It’d be too bad if Joel didn’t get a chance to retort, if he had one, over being called a slacker.
