Honestly, I thought the last decade was better than the 2000s (despite some scuffs). And this strip was WAY better than the previous one. And no, the rumors are not true. Heck, they briefly gave Bert a girlfriend.
Without a doubt, the 90s were the best time for the Henson company after Jim died. I’d dub the 2000s as a really mixed quality with a lot of bad and the 2010s as “lots of potential, but the rug gets ripped out from under us at every moment, never allowing for happiness”.
This was pretty heartwarming. I love Jim Henson’s works, especially since in my early years, I watched a lot of Sesame Street and The Muppets. Dark Crystal and Labyrinth are cult classics as well. Jim Henson: An icon gone too soon.
I like this strip way better than the original one that talked about Henson’s death, since it portrays Joel and Aaron in a much more legitimately condoling light rather than dismissing Henson’s works until AFTER he died (or at least in the case of Joel, whereas Aaron had a pretty valid point about Joel’s apparent distaste for Hanson).
I REALLY like this one! Jim Henson was a genius

Darnell for the win!

Also, I know this likely isn’t intentional, but Joel’s last line is very foreshadow-y about what DID happen to ol’ Kermie. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/muppet/images/5/59/News_kermit.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/300?cb=20111108013724
Someday we’ll find it…the rainbow connection…the lovers, the dreamers, and me…
“Is this how John Denver felt?”
Before or after Duke started shooting at him?
Speaking of lovers, are the girls going to be appearing soon?
I demand more of Darnell immediately.

Been on a Muppet Show kick lately. We need all the laughs we can, cuz that’s what the boss would want.
