Yeah, sorry, no. No matter how rude, annoying, or disruptive they might be, even if they give you the finger or spray paint your house or break your pottery or whatever, you don’t get a free pass to hit someone else’s kid. Period. End of story.
Personally, I do think Jenny and Eric should be punished, but that doesn’t give Mrs. Fitzsimmons the right to spank either of them. Any kind of punishment should be up to the parents.
@ExxorD: Ditto. I actually faced a similar situation to this, where some children vandalised a wooden kitchen island top. They were made to correct it with sandpaper, by hand. Maybe we’ll see Jenny and Eric with paint brushes.
Child abuse absolutely takes precedence over vandalism, because Fitzsimmons could have easily handled it way better. But she chose violence, so she gets violence in return.
So this is a bit of a grey area… Jenny and Eric clearly did property damage, so I understand Mrs. Fitzsimmons’s anger.
However, she WAS about to commit child abuse, especially to a child that’s not her own.
So it’s kinda hard to feel sorry for one or the other.
I do hope mom at least gives Jenny a talk about her actions and how she should control herself more (which I know is rather impossible seeing how Jenny is Jenny, but still).
I know I shouldn’t be pushing for this, but it WILL be amusing for when Jenny finally drops an F-bomb. Bonus points if it’ll be in some dramatic fashion instead of in a casual conversation LMAO
She’s going to cane them? FOR CHALK DRAWINGs!? You yell at them to get out of your yard, grab the hose, and wash it off the dang shed! It’s CHALK!

@El-Man If Jenny was my child, I’d still protect her regardless. No doubt I’ll ground her for vandalism, but I’ll absolutely protect my child first.

Hmm… I think perhaps when Louise finds out what Jenny did, she might come to the end of her own wick. Consequences time?
Everyone has a breaking point. Mrs. Flitzsimmons has finally reached hers. But she just invoked the wrath of Mama Bear Louise.
Mrs. Flitzsimmons has finally had it. As for her ‘grandkids’, I think she never had children at all.
“That’s sexual harassment!”
“Kick her ass mom!”
