You know, I just realized, Kevin in this version is almost like Joel from the original. Think about it, they’re both unlucky in love, both suffer from self-esteem issues, and act like a smartass as a coping mechanism.
The difference, of course, is that Kevin is intentionally meant to be a straight asshole. While Joel in the original came off as a designated hero (somebody we were SUPPOSED to root for but didn’t really give us a reason to).
Of course, Kevin’s more of a foil to Joel here rather than being straight up similar in motive and life stories. I’m just hoping we don’t have to bare his douchebaggery much longer because, honestly, it’s starting to get annoying. At least Amber admits she doesn’t hate the poor fool.
Fuck, this comic’s funny.
Holy smoly. I’m actually feeling a bit of empathy for Kevin.
Is it just me, or does Kevin’s expression in the last panel make it look like he’s about to cry?
Have Kevin’s car towed, that would just make his night.

Kevin’s got issues . . . and that’s saying something.
Looks like Kevin’s backstory is coming to light soon enough.
