I was a little younger than Katy when that fad came around, tried on a pair at the store and after that, didn’t have any interest in it. The rub! ugh. fashion wasn’t worth it to me anyway lol
@Gumbyisinnocent I really think of these as an 80s thing, maybe early 90s. People weren’t really wearing them by 1995 where I was, never mind it being a trend that hadn’t started yet.
On a related note, I know we’ve got another 3 years before this era of the 90’s begins, but to me Jellies Sandals almost seems like the Genesis of “Y2K” fashion, at least with them being all transparent, colorful and futuristic looking.

Oh dear. I was only 15 when this fad hit. I don’t even remember it. That, and I wasn’t the target audience.
They couldn’t wait until summer…?
Of course not.

Sorry, Nurse Ponte, the innocent young girl is a hopeless fashion victim.
Oh the Jellies. Blister central right there.

Only Katy would have such trouble!
Try wearing socks on top of LOTS of foot powder with those kinds of shoes, they’ll reduce the likelihood of getting blisters.
Let’s hope she kept the receipt.
