I’m surprised and honestly a little dismayed to see so many people instantly assuming the worst. Ever since I announced the reboot of the series, I’ve tried to assure people time and again that my goal is to make the tone less bleak and upsetting, yet everyone seems to think it’s gonna be the same stories again with different gags. They’re bracing themselves for a repeat of the same angsty melodrama as before, even after I promised not to do it again.
Guys, you don’t have to be afraid this time. I listened to you.
It begins! There’d be much less Duquesne with much less urgency to Joel’s family this time around since they live so far away, though. Farewell, next door pool party trope. Nice that Joel got one snark in at least.
Zim999- correction, makes Galvatron look like a pool table, since he’s more level then Keven.
Oh Crap… Here we go. We will be seeing Lindsay as a bitch again, but hopefully Kevin won’t be as much of a psychopathic monster as he was in the last incarnation of this strip and will just be a douchebag.
The first showing of the boy that makes Megatron look like a water pistol.
I hope this time he gets written out faster.
Even is this is a new version of the strip, it still doesn’t make up for what that psychopath has done in the past.
Honestly, I have very mixed feelings about the Duquesne’s returning.
On one hand, I do not look forward to having to endure another possible two years worth of strips that hammer in the point that they’re a bunch of narcissistic assholes.
On the other hand, I’m genuinely curious to see how the reboot will handle them this time around.
Aww, they’re not next door neighbours any more. Now they have to go out of their way to annoying our favourite 90s sitcom family…
Thanks for addressing the other readers concern, JB. With your Reworking of the Duquesne family, they’ll be more comedic instead of petty and selfish.

You made Jessica an utter bitch in this version, so giving Lindsay the same traits would just be redundant. I’m optimistic regarding her at least.
I’m actually more curious about Patricia than her kids… and Tina, no lemon bars.

If they’re still jerks, I just hope that Joel will get some wins against them.
I have a feeling we’ll be pleasantly surprised this go ’round.

And now, in the next 3 weeks, we’ll get to see what the new Duquesne family is like. This should be fun.
