Well, the bad news is, there is no way this is going to end without Katy and Ashleigh being publicly humiliated in some fashion.
The good news is, this is the “kinder, gentler” reboot, which means the perpetrators will be getting their comeuppance in a timely manner.
@Jeff: No, not really. He announced in his DeviantArt journal (link) that he was going to do exactly that. He also said he was looking into making an archive of the original run available for purchase, possibly via Patreon.

Of course, Katey has no money, and is underage, but not the point. They’re going to the party “tonight”. Not quite last minute, but Joel can drive the family car. So they’re all going?
Reading the title of the this arc before reading the actual strip, I assumed it was going to revolve around Miley Cyrus. But it seems I may be wrong.
Either way, I like that Katy and Ashleigh are looking to Joel for genuine advice, even if their idea of “crashing a party” is different than what Joel thinks.

Oh boy… This is not going to end well. Why do I got a feeling Katy is about to get humiliated later in this arc?
