On one hand, I’m happy for Marion. On the other hand, the oblivious enabling spouse is all too real. Then again, ‘Milf’ was a big thing right about then…
The only downside to Rick being reduced to an unseen character like Norm’s wife is we’re probably going to lose one of my favorite peripheral characters from the previous version: that one buddy of his who’d always give Rick advice and then come ever-closer to realizing that what he’s advising Rick to do has ruined his own life and strained his relationships with everyone around him.
Nice to see a good talk between Joel and Aaron. Also, it sounds like Marion and Rick are either separated or divorced in this continuity. So at least Aaron doesn’t have to deal with his dad as much.
Whirlwing? Is Joel playing Galaga in his head?
Oh, something said about Aaron’s dad! It looks like the rebooted (overwritten? debooted? done over?) storyline is still going on, even though JB went and Archie’d the timeline. In some ways it’s too bad that he can progress the clock, but won’t progress the years. ANYway, this is not the disaster that having Rick involved with a “standard small-time black-guy police-caused beating/fatality/spilled-my-juicebox incident” story would have been.
Alimony, huh? I’m assuming this means Rick and Marion are separated in this continuity. It also serves as an early indicator that Marion isn’t going to be as much of a pushover here lol
@KaptainJay: Imagine Red and Kitty Foreman… If Red was a rageholic slab of anabolics and ultra-conservatism.
@KaptainJay The mom (Marion) was dim witted but a nice lady. Rick (The dad), to put it lightly, was a complete asshole!
What was Aaron’s folks like in the original comic?

I wonder how this version of Rick is gonna react to Kendra

Aaaaaaah, so THAT’S what happened to Rick in this timeline. Let’s pray we don’t actually SEE him…

Well, at least Rick didn’t get his face shot off in this version. He should feel relieved lol

His mom left his awful asshole of a dad. Good for her!
