Kinda reminds me of when I worked at an Eckerd’s before it became CVS. The brochures had $5 off coupons…but, apparently, they forgot to put RESTRICTIONS on them (like “off of $15” or even an expiration date). The brochures came out and people grabbed a dozen or so of them The following few weeks, it was all we could do to tell them that we would NOT be paying THEM just because they wanted to buy something under $5 with the coupon.
Shame there isn’t a Guitar Center in suburban Minnesota at that time; Joel could DEFINITELY keep a job THERE!
I once spent six months behind a cash register at a shopping mall. And during the Christmas season as well. It’s been years but, to this day, I’ll cut a cashier as much slack as possible.
Cashiers are a high stress job. Given that it’s the 90s and not everything was scannable yet. I wonder how much Joel made after taxes, union dues, uniform price, trainee wages, etc etc
Yeah, I’m with Sean. How is that Joel’s fault? So he dropped something on the floor. Big whoop. That’s hardly something to be fired over, and everything after that was entirely not his fault.

Maybe Joel got enough this time to buy another guitar pick? Or maybe even a whole string?

Well, at least he didn’t quit this time, not that it’s any more comforting.
Aaaaand the status quo is miraculously restored.
For real though, that sounds like something you’d see in a retail store (that I actually wanna see happen) XD
Wait, how is that a fireable offense? He basically got assaulted on the job.
I think their eyes are a little further apart
