I think there’s value in tragedy…at least you get some catharsis out of fictional sad stories, unlike in reality, where you have to fantasize your own. Definitely depends on how close to reality it is, though.
I want to imagine a better, safer, more enjoyable world… and I find myself watching the worst of humanity represented in videos on YouTube or on crime television.
Maybe I’m just keeping it real, or I’m learning from the worst to not do the same things.
I agree with Lindsay. Sometimes you don’t want to be reminded of the crushing factors of reality. You just want to turn off your brain and enjoy the ride.
