This can go two (or three) ways:
The guy is a total creep on the inside, using this job as a cover to get touchy with boys.
He has a darker, angrier side inside him that he eventually lets out.
One of the boys in the group gets jealous of Joel’s cool relationship with the teacher and becomes the antagonist instead of the grown-up for once.
Also, couldn’t help but notice “theremin” among his many teaching topics. I can see the ad slogan now: “Everything you need to become a rock star, plus that one weird instrument that goes ‘weeeee-ooooohhh weeeee-ooooohhh'”
I know it’s probably cliche to say “Jack Black would voice Lars” but…… come on, who ELSE could it be? (I look forward to see if anyone has any other/better ideas)
Alright, good, good. Lars actually seems like he enjoys teaching and is already hitching it off with Joel.
I also appreciate that Lars has a somewhat bulky build. I mean, I know he’s an adult and all, but I feel like too many of the non-skinny characters in the comic are portrayed negatively in some way.
@JIMENOPOLIX The first two scenarios are extremely likely.
Okay, so this guy seems pretty chill.

A musician named “Lars” who isn’t a douchebag. That’s a change.
@ Max Wall: Fair point. Didn’t consider that.
I’m a tiny bit nervous Lars’ll turn out to be a douche but I’m pretty hopeful that he’ll be portrayed positively
Three-week story arc…not getting to excited for Joel here yet.
Liking this guy so far!

@Zach Kenny: My first guess is the guy I’m assuming Lars is meant to put us in mind of, but is sadly no longer with us.
Lard seams like an okay guy. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Well, it looks like it is a very good beginning after all.
Also… that guy in the last panel looks like Kevin?
Okay, Lars seems like a cool dude. I’ll just have to wait and see before I make any judgements.
@Zach Kenny – Holy shit, you are absolutely RIGHT XD
Although, alternatively, Lars also radiates Charlie Day energy to me. Specifically the voice he used for Art in “Monster’s University”.
Huh, I was wrong. This guy’s a real hippy. Be surprised if he even gives grades.
He seems too good to be true.

he looks like he Aaron’s uncle. Seems pretty nice so far
