@Lourenzo That depends if this new iteration of the comic will still HAVE a floating timeline (I forget if Jesse mentioned that or not). But I hope it does.
A nice heart-to-heart interaction between Joel and his mother. Honestly not what I was expecting Tina’s first appearance in the reboot to be about ^^;
In all seriousness, I enjoy that he’s going to her for actual advice that a parent can or cannot answer.
Considering this is a retelling of the early NNS stories, meaning that Tina is still a hardcore moral guardian for this period, I can safely say this is a far cry from their initial relationship (again, prior to Tina’s heel–face turn).
It’s a survival strategy, and one that year after year of school very firmly trains many people for. But it’s not a career. (laughs) Even for Big Box Store ninjas.

Also, wasn’t Joel a sophomore before, or am I forgetting? Cause I don’t remember him being a junior
She starts out nice!

Tina’s rebooted debut looks promising so far!
Rod G – How about you stop fixating on the old Tina for ONCE?
The old Joel wouldn’t have bothered to ask his mom for advice.
I can hear the Midwestern accent in her speech bubbles lol
I kinda want her to be voiced by Mary Jo Pehl in the inevitable animated adaptation.
Hope Joel picks up music soon enough and becomes the musician we know from the comic’s previous continuity.

What FireballDragon said. A guitar would suit you nicely.
Don’t worry Joel, thanks to this comic having a floating, timeline, you won’t have to worry about college for like 10 years
Get a hobby, kid. Start drawing, or maybe pick up an instrument.
