@Jesternario
Toonami won’t really start getting into anime until 2000. It was originally just old Hanna-Barbara action shows, the Americanized Voltron dub and Real Adventures of Jonny Quest as its headliner.
@Jesternario: It was actually earlier today I reflected on how OVAs picking up the slack while network TV fumbled the anime bag gave the whole medium the Blessing of Lucifer for a while.
Considering the US couldn’t get any popular anime in the 90s, and instead just got anything with lots of gore and violence, nudity, sex, or all three to get an audience, I’m glad she’s getting away. It won’t be til next year when Toonami gets started, bringing in higher quality anime that’s not fan translated. At current, most, but not all, fans are like those two chucklenuts.
Granted, later on, characters in the West like Supergirl and Kim Possible (Who are around the same age as the Sailor Guardians, mind you) would also provide their fair share of fanservice.
I used to watch “Sailor Moon” when it was on Fox Kids. And yes, I do agree that the way the girls are sexualised when they’re canonically fourteen through most of the series *is* really creepy.
(Also, just in case anybody needed to be reminded, I’m from the UK.)

@JIMENOPOLIX The national AOC was 13, but the major prefectures bumped it up to 16. It’s 16 on the federal level now.

Oh, that’s unethical gooning to my comfort characters…

Also, Jupiter is best Sailor.
…What?
Somethings you shouldn’t say aloud. Back from the days when “anime” was the normie-filter.
Makes me glad “Sword Art Online” won’t exist for another twenty years.

Oh yeah, they’ve shown themselves to be total fucking creeps.
Ooooooh, those last two panels spoke quite a harsh truth…
In fact, wasn’t the age of consent in Japan at the time said to be 13? I think they recently changed it to an older age.
Yeah, it’s a chatroom, Lindz.
Yeah, really don’t blame Lindsay for bailing. Also, I did like Sailor Moon, but they took the sexualization too far.
Good to see Lindsay getting away in time!
Happy to see Lindsay’s learned her lesson from the “Magic the Gathering” arc and bolted when she could 😆
