As for that ending, I thought the final chapter would be something like the gang being graduated from either high school or college, or even Joel getting married with Michelle or another woman like that cliffhanger ending from The Wonder Years.

You see, Steve, as Monty Python tells us, you don’t vote for kings…

@Zach Kenny Or like the final episode of That 70’s show but it ends in Joel’s bedroom, cuddling with Michelle. So it’s like ending where the series started and showing how far he has come.

Oh this one I remember from the first run of the comic. And yeah I was there watching that Super Bowl. Micheal and Cowboys dominating the Championship. Ah good times.

Real talk: If they’d pulled that around me and mine? There would have been violence.

If they knew what would happen sometime later (about “those charges” against MJ), I bet their mock would be far worse.

@Zach Kennedy Geez! Don’t get me crying about the finale early! XD

@Ghost: In the far-off future when we get to December 1999, I was thinking that my last week of daily strips might be a future flash-forward kind of thing where the main characters wonder where they’ll be in 30 years… but the future they envision is based on what people in 1999 thought the future was going to be like. Back in those pre-9/11 days when we still had hope 😅

@ Ghost: Maybe that’ll be the final comic on 12/31/1999. Like the end of Take This Ed & Shove It, only less depressing.

Michael Jackson’s Halftime show was something.

Jesse, I know that this might be a silly question, but have you ever considered a potential story or even a pic of NNS that takes place in the present day? Like, get a glimpse of what the gang would be doing in 2023?

He’s telepathically communicating with his shoulder angels. Don’t judge him.
