Nothing wrong with Daria. That was pretty much me (in female form) in HS, albeit the show was still quite a few years in the future at that point. I still rewatch that series every year.
I don’t know what the average blouse price was in 1990 so I’m going to go with $20 therefore 20 x 365 = $7300.
But yeah, good goal for Joel- get some straight answers. That’s a road right through “arguing.”
I’m going to be honest, I think it would’ve helped if Katy was the snarky one while Joel was the more optimistic one. Just like how they were portrayed in Forever 16 and the early NNS strips.
Perhaps I’m a bit more used to their original portrayals, but considering Katy’s arrogance and Joel’s passion to seek something greater in life, I feel like it would benefit their characters if their moods were switched.
Though, I will admit that I’m with Joel regarding his predicament. Too much drama in the real-world with little-to-no answers can leave people very bitter and jaded. That being said, I’m heavily desensitized to a majority of it and block it out as much as I can, so the drama has to be directly personal to really get to me.

Dang, Joel definitely acting like a male Daria right now.
So, Joel’s a Pepsi man. Nice to know that he has refined tastes.
Welp, that’s what I’m thinking with the 2020s right now, Joel

This comic sponsored by Pepsi, the Choice of a New Generation…whatever the frack THAT means.

Enough blouses for each day of the year vs a new high score on Tetris. Which is a more realistic resolution? YOU decide.
Jesse have you watched Daria? Cause Joel is acting Daria-ish
Wow! Did their personalities change, too?
