I always liked Denise, even if she was a bit of a flighty space case. She was still an adorable space case, a little more so now, it would seem. I wouldn’t mind seeing her as an occasional addition to the group friend dynamic…someone to just hang ot with upon occasion. You know she and Jocelyn would bond on at least one level ::cough, cough, herbage, cough, cough::
Huh. I think I like this resolution to the story better than either of the previous versions. It’s slightly underwhelming, but it’s much more consistent with the existing characters.
A cleaner ending than many.
J-“I think we should just be friends.”
D-“I hope you and your family face the Mayan Apocalypse.”
Aw. Let’s hope we see more of Denise in the future. After all, there’s 365 days in a year. Lots more Earth to save.
I really liked this incarnation of Denise, far more than the previous ones. She’s much less of a cloudcuckoolander this time around, and more of a sweet, affectionate girl who just happens to have a few quirky things about her.
I truly do feel bad for Joel. I mean, it seems like Michelle is quite LITERALLY the only girl he can be happy with (besides Jocelyn of course, but obviously their relationship is platonic).
Jessica was using Joel just so she could humiliate him, Denise’s new age lifestyle doesn’t mesh well with Joel’s love of grunge culture, Tabitha was ALSO using Joel because she solely wanted him to be her ideal goth man, Lindsay shot Joel down the very moment she met him, and Selina takes her love of Sinéad O’Connor to levels that nobody would find tolerable.
Either way, I found the reboot’s take on this particular arc to be an improvement. Largely because Joel actually made an effort to get along with Denise rather than dismiss her hippie ways in a cold manner. I’m glad you’re learning from those mistakes.

She’s so nice… *Gets hard*

Hm. This ended a lot differently from the old continuity. Makes me see how nice of a person Denise is. Hope to see her again later on.
Even though things didn’t work out, it’s good to see that Joel and Denise are still cool with one another.
I’m not gonna lie. I was totally wrong. Reboot Denise is a sweet character.

Denise is a sweet girl. Hope she finds someone too.

I’m not into new age stuff, but Denise is a nice character that I hope will show up more often in the reboot.
Let’s hope Denise is right about Joel.
