Speaking as someone who interacted closely with the studebt council in high school, they’re generally not actually very concerned about anything. Most kids just view it as an extracurricular that looks good on college applications.
…Unless, of course, the Student Council is just a figurehead with no real authority, whose purpose is to make the students think they have some control over their lives, and the real power lies with the school administration. You know, like in real life.
Now, here’s what I want to know. The Student Council is made up of, well, STUDENTS, yes? They share many of the same concerns and priorities as Lindsay does. They’re all in the same boat, more or less. So why would they have allowed the awful conditions she described on yesterday’s page? Textbooks falling apart? Scorpions under the bleachers? These are objectively, indisputably, huge problems that need to be addressed ASAP. Why would ANY Student Council, regardless of which specific people are in it, have ever considered things like that to be LOWER priority than “multi-color chalk” or “bulletproof sneeze guards in the cafeteria”? In other words, why is Lindsay the only one who wants to take action on the things that actually matter?
Lindsey working with a group of people. Wow, that went from “some sort of Mean Girl version of The Purge” to “Captain Planet with cheerleaders”. Perhaps some sort of best friends cheer squad would have something for Katey and Ashley to do. Lindsey seems to have aligned herself against Star Search, so what other fluff piece tv could she be aiming for?
So only 42% of the school students are male students?
So it looks like the school DOES know about the Star Search incident. Surprisingly, it seems like they’re taking it better than you’d expect them to be.
And unfortunately for Lindsay, it looks like I was right about the school having “ridiculously high expectations”.

Lesbians exist, dude. And gay dudes. And bisexual men/women.
Did Craig just make a joke?
Looks like about 2/5’s of the student body are perverts judging by Trevor’s line in the 4th panel. Best of Luck, Lindsay. You will need it.
