I happen to have autism which makes it harder for me to process things like that. Not trying to excuse anything, but I’m saying that it might take me longer to properly analyze an infodump. So a lot of us this was on my end, not yours. You’re an excellent fucking writer, and you should be VERY proud of yourself!
Again, it was heavily implied that Lindsay was going along with the crowd, and that Staci was the true ringleader of her clique. Basically, she just wanted to fit in, and got swept up in a lot of nasty behavior fueled by mob mentality. When she saw the effect it was having on the other students, she was horrified, and repented immediately.
Trying to imply all of this through a natural conversation instead of a massive infodump or a lengthy flashback was one of the biggest challenges of the Star Search arc. I tried my best, folks, I really did 😅
@jbwarner86 I think the Anon’s main concern is why she was like that to begin with? Like, what could have happened in her life to inspire all of that anger?
@Anonymous Ouch. I presume you had the same shit happen to you.
Her actions were appaling. We can all agree on that. But what you have to understand is that Lindsay did what 90% of bullies would never do. She went out of her way to make up for her actions. She even confessed everything to the principal (who didn’t do anything because he’s a creepy old man), including her involvement.
Is she flawed? Absolutely. Irredeemable? Not a chance. Especially when she has given multiple indications that she may possibly never forgive HERSELF! Nobody who irredeemable would do that. In comparison, Jessica is irredeemable..because she tried to fucking murder Lindsay because she was jealous.
People really seem to be hung up on the fact that I didn’t actually show some sort of flashback of Lindsay apologizing to the girls she hassled at her old school. But I did strongly imply that she did during her argument with Staci back in the Star Search arc, and I thought that would be enough.
If anyone still needs further clarification, then allow me, the artist and writer, to state right now: It is officially canon that Lindsay publicly renounced her previous snotty ways and apologized before she moved away from Orange County. That’s what finalized the falling out between her and Staci – because Staci was wholly unrepentant, and saw Lindsay’s condemnation of their behavior as being thrown under the bus by her partner in crime.
I’m kinda surprised that it’s been a year and a half and I’m still explaining this 😅
@jbwarner86 It doesn’t matter if she’s sorry. The victim will have the life with the trauma for the rest of her life, and Lindsay can never truly make up for what she did. She could have killed the girl.
@Anonymous: I’ve already written several stories demonstrating beyond any shadow of a doubt that Lindsay is sorry for the junk she pulled at her old school. If those didn’t change your mind, I’m pretty sure nothing would.
Also, I can just see the wheels turning in Mulroney’s head. “Hmm…wants to make the world a better place, eh? Now how can I exploit this teen’s naive enthusiasm for my own benefit?”
So a perky, blonde cheerleader wants to major in political law? I’d say she was inspired by Legally Blonde, but that won’t be released for another eight years.
@Toon-Resurrection92 This is going to absolutely fail on her due to date fact that she mentally abused someone and scarred them for life! Even if she’s changed, how is anybody going to take her seriously?
Also, good luck with that, Lindsay. You had the worst mistake if your life projected in front of hundreds of kids. The college may or may not have a fit when they find out.
And now another MST3K reference – What to Do on a Date?
@jbwarner86 I have a confession to make.

Lindsay is irdeemable
Change my mind.
Seriously, you’d think he’d pick up some of the current slang through overheard repetition.

@Azure-Mage88 It’s too late for that. You can’t negotiate with a lion when you’re head is halfway in its mouth.
At least Lindsay will remain in Minnesota.
And here is where Linds finds out that Mulrony wants to remain the HNIC…
Head Nincompoop In Charge.
Oh boy. Lindsay, you have no idea what you signed up for.
Mini golf AND a taffy pull?! Well, la-de-daaaaah!
Don’t go falling for his charm, Lindsay! Hang around the scorpion and you’ll wind up getting stung in the end!
Also, good luck with that, Lindsay. You had the worst mistake if your life projected in front of hundreds of kids. The college may or may not have a fit when they find out.
I knew it!!
Lindsay has EVERY right to be worried.
Also, taffy pull legit sounds like fun.
