I generally don’t like to spoil my own storylines, but to calm everyone down, I’ll make an exception: This girl is not going to be a regular character. This is just a one-off gag. You can all sleep easy tonight 😆
Though I did get a little bit meta by making store brand Jocelyn an over-the-top passive-aggressive brat who picks fights with people on instinct, which is what Jocelyn’s most vocal detractors in the comments seem to think she is. This goes to show that if I did write a character like that, you’d know it 😆
Yeah, it is. Actually the first time I heard it was on the GTA:Vice City radio channel, KCHAT. It was a talk-show channel and a segment had a militant feminist, and closeted but obviously lesbian, author on it. She made a point to say “I am a womyn. That’s womyn with a “y”!” The bit is actually pretty hilarious, as she gets called out at the end by a female caller.
Being brutally honest, I have absolutely NO qualms with anyone being gay. But Joanie is coming off as someone who is like “Look at how much of a lesbian I am. I hate ALL men, and I’ll castrate them ALL when I get the chance.” She’s going to get all the wrong kinds of attention. She is gay, and making it everyone else’s problem to deal with. o_o;
@Toon-Resurrection92 no, it’s a third-wave feminism thing iirc. I can’t remember exactly what the point of that spelling is, but it does get spelled that way in specific political/feminist contexts. I think it might also mean something vaguely transphobic, but I might be thinking of a similar term.
Joycelyn:*reminded of her ex* You are Frustratingly familiar to me.

@Plocb: If Jocelyn beats her like she did to Lindsay in the old continuity, it would be priceless!
@Kim, Toon-Resurrection92,

And there’s the obligatory militant extremist radfem.

Oh god, I can practically smell her.
Wonder how many of her songs involve vaginas (metaphorical or figurative).
I give her a 98.44% chance of getting kicked out/punched by Jocelyn for being biphobic.

Her name is Joanie, and she knows what I am.
@jbwaner86 I think you spelled women wrong.
Dollar Store Jocelyn..
Nice to meet you, Joanie.
Ah, look at that. The new B-word in the room.
Wonder what Jocelyn would do/say if she were in the room. She’d probably not appreciate how this “feminazi” is degrading her boy pals.
Oh jeez, good luck working with Joanie, fellas.
Can someone explain the punchline to me. I googled “shur-fine” but I feel there’s a connotation I’m missing.
Shur-Fine — cuz it’s sure fine
Man, it’s like a loaner Jocelyn. Let’s hope she’s got a killer radio
A li’l bit of ego?
Oh Joanie’s gonna be fun…
Bet they’re wishing Jocelyn was with them right about now.
… Or maybe it’s best she wasn’t. Joanie is immediately coming across as someone who would incur Jocelyn’s wrath.
