Hope we get to see some redeeming qualities or sympathetic moments with Ronald. He is doing what he thinks is best for his daughter, who can ask for more?

“[I]t’s possible that hundreds of years of persecution of non-straight people has come about as a word being misinterpreted.”
The word to’ebah, usually translated as “abomination,” really means ‘ritually impure.’

Glad to know that Ronald’s still a bible thumper. Let’s see how far he takes it.

She knows enough about the Bible to talk back. Bet Ron loves that…

Hey now, Jos. Don’t be dissing my girl Amy Grant >:(

Fun fact about Leviticus: the part that Ronald is quoting from is part of a section of chapters detailing the “holy code”, a set of guidelines that God ordained in order to set his chosen people apart from their pagan-worshipping neighbors. This included not eating certain animals, not getting tattoos, even avoiding wearing mixed fibers! And at the time, male-on-male prostitution was a common practice in paganist religions, so in order to set His people apart, God chose to use that as another guideline. Also, there’s a LOT of debate about the phrase being mistranslated or skewed in some way to promote a certain agenda, so it’s possible that hundreds of years of persecution of non-straight people has come about as a word being misinterpreted. (On behalf of all Christians, I sincerely apologize.)

But yeah, I like this new version of Ronald. He’s just as judgemental and mean-spirited, but more restrained and composed. Which will make it all the more satisfying to see Steven and Jos worm their way under his skin. 🙂

Okay, so Ronald is still an ass. Good to know. But he seems more calm in comparison to his previous incarnation.

TheJayster49: That’s because, in this continuity, he’s not one trigger way from murder/suicide at all times.

Ronald looks like Wesley Wyndam-Pryce before he went badass in “Angel” lol

Can’t IMAGINE what Ronald would do 30 years later when Francis I says being gay is OK. 🙂

She’s consistent, not insolent. Unfortunately Ronald’s consistently a jerk.

This is off topic and completely out of the blue, but I noticed Ronald is more attractive looking in the reboot compared to the original. Or at least, he doesn’t look as old.
