“I had to play peacemaker between my parents until they finally divorced, leaving me a chronic people-pleaser” is a pretty deep vein of trauma. That’s more Green Day than Nirvana, though.
In related news, happy imaginary 56th birthday, Kurt Cobain.
@JIMENOPOLIX: I saw that info about that story in tvropes.org a while ago, and I forgot to mention the guy was not so older (18 years or something?). Sorry about not explaining that so well.
I don’t know why people are freaking out over Katy’s shirt. There’s no deep meaning behind it, nor is it foreshadowing some unsavory storyline; midriff shirts were just fashionable for girls in the mid-’90s. It’s just me being historically accurate 😆
At least, Rick’s PTSD did not made him a villain from the psychopath type like Jessica or Deb, nor someone who blames the world for everything like Ronald or Zeke, nor someone who wants to ruin someone’s life like Ryan and Andrew. Instead, he is only a man who refuses to let go his past by always talking about his life in Vietnam every time (always) he has the chance, but still he deeply cares for Aaron (even if he desperately wants him to be like him, or to BE him) and Marion.
@Ghost: I have the same doubts about the characters’ birthdays as well, although seeing Katy with that shirt makes me think @jbwarner86 is planning to make a new version of that storyline in which she gets involved with an older man if this have not happened already.
@TheJayster49: I wish the same for all of them. Really.
Honestly, mad props to Aaron. He goes through so much shit and still manages to see the bright side of things.
Kinda makes me wish the rest of the main gang (barring Steve who’s pretty chill despite his neglectful household) were a little more like him. Joel’s cynicism and Jocelyn’s punk-rock attitude are justified and often engaging, but seeing them be more genuinely optimistic every once in a while would make a nice change of pace for their characters.
I noticed from today’s Patreon perk that Katy is gonna be 15 soon. Now that the characters are aging up, will they have proper birthdays or have they aged up all at once?

@jbwarner86 Well, that’s reassuring.
I was more freaked out by what Superior Gorilla said about some storyline…

@Superior Gorilla
“… a new version of that storyline in which she gets involved with an older man…”
I don’t like the sound of that… 🥶
What storyline involved something like this?

@TheJayster49 YUS!! We all could use positivity like his!

I don’t know. That’s pretty good material.

It’s nice to see that Aaron is chill regarding his parents split.
