Joey Waggoner, that ad brought back soooo many memories, especially seeing that final screen layout. I’m just glad I have the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD set.
That’s not even getting into how unfair the American educational grading system is compared to other countries. In the UK, just getting 70% gets you an A.
Looks like it’s extra study hall for Alexis. Loooots of extra study hall. Alexis’s real problem is that her parents simply want her to do well in school.
And JB is still keeping up the first row of the Sunday comic as it’s own standalone sort of comic. Keep up the good work.
So was Alexis lugging around the book, tape, and encyclopedias all day? She probably forgot her lunch too.
This is why I think modern standards for culture and education are set WAY too high. All it does is deprave people of having fun, creates a never ending string of paranoia about their futures, and forces them to overwork themselves to achieve what the media calls “success.”

She brought in 3 volumes of an encyclopedia? Girl’s got some good core strength for a 6 year old…
Really enjoying the kinder Tina, but like the others, I do feel bad for Alexis.

I hate books. Just… All books.

“And the tiger poster!”
That ad ran all the way up until the 2000s. I must have seen that over 300 times as a kid.
Also somebody sign this poor kid up for the Time-Life Looney Tunes Video Library (now that’s culture!).

Dang, I feel sorry for Alexis. But admittedly, I liked Zoobooks back when I was a kid.

Criminy, poor kid…
