Ah, Youngblood. Far from the worst Image book in the 90s, but probably the weakest of the starting lineup. Not to mention that title, which probably caused it to get lost among the thousand other “Blood-something” characters and teams that sprung up in that era.
I love how Youngblood left so little impact on comics history that the only thing anyone can talk about is the Infinity Gauntlet joke in the throwaway panels 😆
As this strip is set thirty years in the past, it is worth to remember that certain Marvel characters (i.e.: The Incredible Hulk, Hank Pym, The Mighty Thor and Peter Parker) were getting their respective 30th anniversary. Also, DC Comics had just published The Death of Superman and Knightfall was next to be set!
The 90s were a tough time on comic books. Any successes only helped to make the low sellers look bad. There were more independents though, and they did the craziest stuff.
So is the gauntlet something from the comic book store, or did Steve have one and brought it along for no real reason?

More and more, the movies are making the source comic books increasingly irrelevant. Which is honestly kind of sad. This strip of Anime News Nina gets more accurate every day. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/anime-news-nina/2011-04-20

Yeah, the Infinite Saga was quite complex for a Marvel storyline.

@TheJayster49: Oh, no, Infinity War is currently happening. And has a vastly different plot involving warped monstrous clones of the heroes.

*I think
Goddammit..
Cue “Infinity War” approximately 16 years later, and everything would never be the same again.
Though if I’m honest, that sounds exactly like something Steve would be into.
Also Steve has the Infinity Gauntlet. I don’t think he’s the only one who would use it responsibly anyway. Other than Lindsay.
I DM’ed you on Patreon JTLYK. Thanks.
