And to think that today, Sub-Zero ripping out the spine of one too many unfortunate Kombatants back then, while giving birth to the ESRB down the road, would be considered tame.
Not sure why my comments keep getting blocked, so let’s try this one more time. Ahem…
For style points, I recommend “Blue Identikit Ninja” (Sub-Zero). He’s much more stylish than his arch-enemy, “Yellow Identikit Ninja” (Scorpion), or the top-secret character, “Green Identikit Ninja” (Reptile).
@TheJayster Toddler age ends at 4 at the latest (it’s so called because they’re not walking well, that is that they’re “toddling”). The age group you want is “Elementary Schooler”
Drawing that fatality probably would have been a lot harder than this reverse shot that we see, but I think this was definitely the right choice, dramatically and comedically.
@Red Rain: I will dispute MK3; that’s got more than its fair share of dud fatalities. Like that one where Kabal just inflates his opponent’s head. And all those ones that just make it obvious the “dismemberment” is just slicing up sprites.
If Eric thought the original Mortal Kombat Fatalities were disturbing, he would faint after seeing the fatalities to Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 when they come out.
I like that Jenny is actually disturbed cause it shows that she has standards despite her love of mischief (or reminds us that she’s still just a toddler, one or the other).
@jbwarner86: Ah, that explains it. Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind for next time.

They should see Mortal Kombat today!

Is that the widest we’ve ever seen Jenny’s eyes open?

Even if he manages to beat those jerks, Eric will have nightmares for weeks.
Them kids’ reactions, haha!

Wow. Even Jenny was disturbed by how much violence win the game. Eric us going to have to man you in order to play the game.

@ Jayster: Yeah, it’s not too often we’ve seen her shocked/horrified like that. Pretty much the only time I can think of is that IT comic.
Jay, she immediately went on to order pizza with extra salsa. Pretty sure she’s just excited at the bright new world of violent games.
