Was expecting something like this. Their trajectory has been ABRUPT. From playing a garage show with less than 10 “fans” to an indie label to THIS? In what, a year? I’d be feeling detached from reality, too. (I get the author didn’t want to spend years showing them build their band organically, but this just screams “quick rise and quick fall.”)
I feel like a broken record saying “grass is greener on the other side.”
Though in these guys’ case, it’s hard to blame ’em when their options are either between working with a psychopathic man-child or living with deadbeat parents and going to school with degenerative assholes.
Though at least Joel and Aaron’s parents are supportive in their own ways, and Steve’s parents seem distant for the most part.
I’m guessing Joel just realized that fame isn’t always what you expect it to be.

Mid-life crisis at 17. I actually remember being afraid of turning 18. I’m 33 now.
Welcome to almost-adulthood, guys.
So this is where they realize they loved their lives much more before becoming big stars and are considering giving it all up to go back home.
Calling it now: Aaron is going to show up, give that fuckface a piece of his mind, and inspire his friends to keep going.
They are becoming homesick and having doubts about their futures after Woodstock.

Kind of ironic it started raining after Blind Melon’s performance. And it looks like Westworld is starting to have doubts.
