I agree with Mole204. The kid took life lessons from a crap HOME ALONE knockoff that totally missed that movie’s message and ran around doing Calvin-on-meth level dumbassery behind Katy’s back, stuff she was trying to prevent once she caught him.
Katy’s fatal flaw is not only her dimness, but also the fact that she overestimates how smart she really is. In fairness, it helps as a learning strategy on what NOT to do on your next try.
The most important key is making sure people like Katy actively TRY to prove that they’ve learned something (and that other people rightfully call them out if they don’t).
