That said, though…it would be nice if Katy had a little more depth to her character. I’m not one of those people who demand Pulitzer-level writing from my web comics, but Katy could really do with some more fleshing out. Right now, her entire personality can be summed up as “boys, clothes, shoes, and New Kids”.
I’m ok with Lindsey not being used to solve every problem, though this counts more like a self-imposed obstacle for and by Ashleigh. I’m not disappointed, but it’s kind of a miss that the “Close encounters” title was used and there was no aliens or crop circles. (it’s Minnesota, right?) Worse, that Ashly needs/no, just wants, clothes, while the “nerd kind” is title mentioned, and a box of nerd-kind clothes from Steve doesn’t show up to get used. Not that Ashleigh would like wearing a mirror-finish Cylon costume to school when she’s looking for “I don’t know what I’m looking for, but I want something cool” outfits, or at least bootleg NKOTB iron-on patches.
But we get a good comic strip that has Katy and Ashleigh bond more as friends, presumably while Lalapalooza is taking up Joel and the gang.
Kinda disappointed Lindsay didn’t make an appearance in this storyline, though I suppose it helps give Katy and Ashleigh a better sense of not having to rely on her for fashion advice.
Ashleigh seems to have already found her fashion sense. Katy… well, I’d say she’s about as successful with fashion as her brother is with music lol
@MegaJar Maybe she can hang out more with Joel and the gang, or even try some of that “green paprika” if you know what I mean.
Ashleigh is a good friend.

@Zach Kenny Fair point.
@ Jayster: Lindsay’s obviously been too busy preparing for Star Search (which I think is up next if I’m not mistaken)
Not a bad way to end the arc.
