@Blackferret I think that it’s that Joel wants a career as a musician, not a career as a pop star. Like a local band that’s a regular at a coffee shop. Enough work to get by to do what he loves, but below the radar enough so he won’t get swarmed for autographs.
I just don’t understand Joel sometimes. He wanted to be a musician as a career, which is why they dropped out of High School to being with. Now, he just wants to jam in the garage. What did he think being a professional musician was going to be like?
Odd Joel says that when beforehand at the other company he was actually enjoying himself before they went under (the sleazy manager going against their wishes at including a song they didn’t want added on their album) notwithstanding. Plus Russell was the main problem throughout all of their tenure with him. But, meh, bonding and reconciliation and what not.
Only problem is that they do have a contract with Atlantic, was it Atlantic? With Russel’s delusional management, maybe they can get Paul from Twin/Tone to run the show for Westworld and the other unknown acts that may fit into the grunge label.
Look at that, they managed to pry Joel and Michelle apart. However, if Joel and the band now realise that being famous is NOT what they want… then what? Back to school? Or finding a better label?
Looks like all this week will be centered on them trying to run away from their ‘best buddy’ and the following (and last) week will be centered on the consequences.
I find it interesting how Joel hated the thought of being famous even before partnering with Atlantic Records, but now he has firsthand experience to fully cement his hatred of fame. A unique take on the otherwise “kids wants to be famous but realizes it’s not all cracked up to be” cliche.
Also, Michelle and Kendra got some strength to be able to push shopping carts with people in ’em in the middle of a mudslide. Can definitely see why Joel and Aaron love ’em so much XD

Yes and are we going to acknowledge that Russel now can sue Westworld for breach of contract?

Surprisingly wholesome stuff here.

Love the heart to heart speech between Aaron and Joel.
Why do I feel that shit is just moments away from hitting the fan (again)?
