@Tiguan Right?? I get Joce is pissed about the spanking, but Phyllis could be brainwashed to believe that she deserved it in Ronald’s messed up logic. If you really want to open your mom’s eyes, remind her again that Ronald FIRED A SHOTGUN AT HER DAUGHTER.

I can see Phyllis’ desperate denial cracking as we speak.

C’mon, Phyllis! Wake up and smell the chloroform Ron’s been shoving up your nose!

OK, Phyllis. Moment of truth. You’ve been confronted by evidence that your darling husband committed attempted murder and assault against your own daughter. Now, are you finally gonna grow a fucking spine and take a stand against him? Or are you gonna just stick your head in the sand and pretend nothing’s wrong, like usual?

Sorry, but I keep feeling like there’s an inordinate focus on Ronald beating her in public as the last straw when he *FIRED A GUN AT HER!* I mean, both are pretty final straws but spankings are rarely fatal.

Okay, Phyllis -what’s more important: Your faith or your daughter?

Ronald doesn’t recall at this time. Yep, he’s a politician all right. 🤮

So this is the first time Phyllis has heard of this event, eh?
Well, if she doesn’t believe what Vicky says (nor the hand-prints Jocelyn mentioned, to which Phyllis would imagine Jocelyn put them there herself), she’ll certainly have a bunch of onlookers to back up what happened, even her own friends AND Rick!

We only have until Tuesday to see how this episode wraps up. My guess is Phyllis may be told the facts and believe them, but she might be too afraid to go against her darling “saint” of a husband’s words on account of what he might do, given what he pulled earlier.

But that’s just a prediction. For now, I’m enjoying how things are slowly but surely unraveling in front of Phyllis.

    @ExxorD: Agreed.

I really hope Phyllis’s reaction is a sign of her not being aware of what Ronald pulled. Because if she insists on staying with him after THAT, and completely disregards what he did to Jocelyn… she’s not salvageable as a character.

Depending on her reaction after this, she may end up potentially worse than Ronald.
What’s the one specific part in the “Confiteor prayer”?

    I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and >>in what I have failed to do<<

It would be the right choice for Jocelyn to disown her father.

    The choice has been made.

Yup. The most obvious choice, and Phyllis seems like she was not aware of what happened.

Ronald actually looks almost scared in the last panel. Looks like we finally found something that can be used against him XD

I mean, obviously, but with how persistent he is…
