If the only memorable part of your film is a shot of a woman uncrossing her legs, then the producers have failed as filmmakers and writers. Know your audience and dedicate your efforts to entertaining them for the other 99% of the movie! In other words, what if all of Basic Instinct had been interesting? (This isn’t going to be a riff thing, is it? I don’t have to watch the whole movie to get this chapter, right? It was never attention getting when on tv.)
