I think the quick resolution is thanks to that massive tent we see Vince pitching in the last panel. Keep in mind this is a tent being pitched after a massive scare/buzzkill of the bed collapsing. I worry for Kristen’s vaginal safety.

There’s a solid life lesson. Always buy quality furniture.

Speaking from my college experience, if they were doing it hard enough to break the bed there should have been angry neighbors pounding on the walls telling them to keep it quiet.

@Red Rain: In the case of Cynthia, she also could need a limelight arc to flesh out her character. She still has little personality other than being ditzy and clueless. I don’t think we even know her surname while we know that Kristen is of Japanese descent.

Wow, they actually broke the bed. You know, in the four years this new reboot of Nineteen Nintey Something has been around, a lot of the major and supporting characters of this strip have been getting together left and right. You have the main couples of Joel and Michelle, Steve and Jocelyn, and Aaron and Kendra. You have the pairings of Craig and Lindsay, Amber and Kevin, and now Kristen and Vince. Heck, you even have the puppy love couple Jenny and Eric, and the same-sex couple of Ashleigh and Melanie.

To me, Katy and Cynthia are two of the few major/supporting characters who have yet to find love.

For Katy, I personally hope she finds her Mr. Right sometime this year. As for Cynthia, I also hope she eventually finds a romantic partner, but it may be tough, as it will have to be someone who likes her for who she is despite not being the brightest bulb in the shed.

It’s not a bunkbed, it’s one of those loft beds with a desk underneath it.

@TheJayster99: Agreed, it did feel extremely rushed. One day later, a brief conversation (which, you will note, didn’t even contain an apology), and all is forgiven? Yeah, there’s no way she got over it that fast. Buuuut…all’s well that ends well, I guess.

On a related note, I certainly hope she doesn’t have a roommate who sleeps in the bottom bunk, or said roommate is gonna be pretty pissed off when they come back to the dorm room tonight.

More tits and sex! And a lesson on why you should never do it on the top bunk 🤣

In seriousness, I appreciate that this storyline made an effort to finally flesh out Kristen and Vince, given how static their respective characters are. I just wish Kristen didn’t forgive Vince so easily cause it made the pacing feel very rushed.
