I gotta admit. I still ain’t over the whole bullying thing, as I was teased plenty myself in school and online. That being said, Lindsay is not a monster. Not even close.
Katy demonstrates why even asking her mum for help would be better than a DIY peroxide. And it looks like the “quitting smoking” storyline will be a future thing too.
I like how, in both the old and new continuities, Lindsay essentially ends up taking everything Jessica had — her friends, her spot on the cheer squad, and (soon, presumably) her boyfriend — but she did so in entirely opposite ways. The first time, she did it by being bitchy and manipulative and spreading false rumors that utterly destroyed Jessica’s life. This time, she did it by just being a good person, standing up to Jessica, and letting Jessica destroy her OWN life.
I already like this new version of Lindsay. Hopefully she earns Craig’s heart this time, rather than take it. Though I have confidence that she’ll earn his heart. Now THEY would make a great couple this time around.
It’s not often that a character gets replaced by herself, but I think it works. Lindsey seems to have earned major cred, and I actually like the line “Everyone deserves the chance to wear great clothes and be awesome.” It’s one of the cornerstones of teenagerdom. It’s so simple and positive it sounds like something you’d hear on Bill and Ted. As for Katey’s scalp, old Lindsey, and probably Joselyn, wouldn’t even consider that a ‘beauty cost’ suffering because it lacks iron nails driven into places. Poor Jessica- gone again, and no sequin dress scene or torch song to her appearance.
Okay, admittedly I snickered at that last panel. Hair fail for Katy right there. I’m also glad to see that unlike the last continuity, Lindsay is developing a genuine friendship with her fellow squad mates. Admittedly, those four girls are growing on me a bit since they are being fleshed out more as characters.
I’m beginning to theorize that Lindsay USED to be an alpha bitch in the same vein as the original continuity. I feel this would help expand her character so the development she received from the original wouldn’t go to waste.
And Katy’s at least TRYING. But for the love of god, buy a curling iron.
Nice nod to the Duquesne house party arc.

I was hoping Lindsay wouldn’t be a smoker this time around, but such it goes. I can hope for the “quitting” storyline in the future, at least.
So we jumped straight to post-Heel Realization Lindsay? Neat.

Bonding with your mates while having a smoke. Values dissonance, I suppose…
Oh, there you are, Katy. Wonder what kind of escapade happened on that end?
God I would love a heartwarming part where Lindsey gives Katy a full blown makeover and they just really bond as friends
It’s also very intriguing that the “Jessica going to catholic school” is still a thing and I’m concerned and interested in seeing what it leads to

Wise words Lindsay

The overhaul was a total success! I mean Lindsay’s character change, not Katy’s “makeover.”
