Marion getting mind bullet powers. Yeah, that’s another one for the album covers idea stack.
So far, Rick is more good natured, or at least less “an unknown mix of spite and alcohol”. But given what he gets up to, could he get himself into something too “manly” for him to handle? So, Iron John. Some sort of guru, inspirational speecher, or self-help seminar? I could almost hope for Rick getting pyramid schemed. The Iron John movement? Don’t know if I’ve heard of that one, but sitting around and talking isn’t what I’d expected Rick to drag Aaron to.
Now that I have thought about it, I hope Rick will take Aaron wanting to start his own band much better here than he did in the original. Granted, he didn’t have a freaking meltdown over Aaron showing him a picture of Kendra, but we all know his reaction overall lol
In seriousness, I find it amusing how Rick in this continuity is basically his counterpart in the original continuity but with his early and later personalities fused together. He’s still a racist and sexist buttwipe but he’s far more lax and boisterous, rather than having those characteristics being mutually exclusive from each other.
I mean, not necessarily trying to say it’s a GOOD thing, cause as stated before, he has VERY outdated political views. Still, it’s an improvement over being an outright white supremacist.
I’m curious if this version of Rick will pull a straight up Tom Binkley and become the polar opposite of his original self. Binkley’s dad went from raging conservative lunatic to apathetic burnout to a softer yuppie-ish lite-liberal character over Bloom County’s ten year run
Aaah, THERE’S the title drop! (sorry if that sounds snoppy, I’m sure a lot of us had the same reaction trying to figure out what the “Iron Man” was referring to)
Well his dickishness feels more unintentional this time around and at least he genuinely cares instead of the straight up loathing of his own son he had previously
As someone whose’s stepdad told em “emotional support is the mother’s job” i really relate to Aaron here
Even if he’s clueless, I really do like how happily enthusiastic he is, as opposed to the perpetually angry and grumbling guy he was before.
Budweiser? Ugh. Someone get Rick a decent beer.

* snobby, sorry.

Well, at least Rick is trying to bond with his son this time.
