OK, here’s what I don’t understand. Everything Russell has done so far has been, in his own deluded mind, meant to help the band succeed. Signing them up for MTV interviews and Woodstock and Lollapalooza? All efforts to make them more popular. Editing Joel’s interview footage to make him look like a douche? Douches are “cool”, of course. Even kicking Aaron out of the band was, in his mind, for the good of the band. Obviously every single one of those decisions was utterly wrong and stupid, but from his inept, poorly-educated point of view, he’s doing it for their own good.
But this? Banning Aaron from even attending the concert, as a spectator? What possible benefit could that have?! This seems less like “half-baked attempt to improve the band” and more like plain old mean-spirited spite.
No go. Arron is blocked from all Lollapalooza. That’s what a douche Russell is. I don’t know if he’ll be able to be in the show, but he can not watch any of it.

And yeah Aaron, I know you like the silver lining but dude some things you can’t wuss out on. Although why do I have the feeling this might end up in a Revenge of the Nerds 2 style climax.
I find Aaron’s attitude and actions in the previous few arcs to be a fine example of how kindness can actually do harm. He thinks he’s helping, but he’s just giving more power to the villain, and possibly harming his friendships in the process. Believe it or not, there are times when being kind is not the way to go. There are times when we need to get mad and fight, and this is definitely one of those times.
While I have the chance, I wanna mention that my headcanon voice for Aaron is Tucker’s voice from RVB with a hint of the speech patterns/vocal tone from Caboose from also RVB (Red vs. Blue). I don’t know I just think it fits.

I don’t hate Aaron… but I do think perhaps he should grow a spine.
Then again, this is security he’s going up against.
The most that can happen now is Aaron gives Joel a call and tells him what actually happened, and Joel may start growing more impatient with Russell to the point of blowing up in his face and ripping the contract (if he is allowed to).
