    @Jacob Jones
    I’d answer but I’ve learned to know your audience with political jokes.

    What I want to know is who the 2% of senators that voted for the bill were. Something tells me they’re either naive or just really hate freedom of speech.

    Unlike the rest of you, I think it was better to not have Jacob’s dad call in & give her the same speech Tina & Jacob gave. They’ve obviously had more personal stakes in the whole development of MAD & Deb’s malicious behavior. Of course, he’s got his own backstory with Deb, but what would he have to say about the NOW of it all (not to sound pretentious with that wording)? Both that Larry King broadcast & Jacob’s phone call is what got him up to date on what he’s missed.

    That’s sweet. The only downer is that,if Jacob moves away with his father, then we won’t see him anymore.

    Yay! The dad shows up after all! Though I still think it would’ve been better if he’d called into the Larry King show to share stories of how crazy Deb is. But this is good too!

    Anybody else worried that there’s still a week left in this story?

    Jacob finally gets the happy ending he deserves. I wonder if Eric will get his own as well.

    @RedRain makes a good point: it’d be nice to know Jake’s dad’s side of the story. I’m mostly curious how that batshit slag even get someone to put a baby in her in the first place? Jake only gave us a very brief mention of how Deb stopped allowing him to visit his father. And I’m pretty damn sure there are plenty more horror stories about that relationship (and a horror story or two would be perfect right before Halloween).
    Just to be clear: the fact that Deb is a horrible mother (and person) is 100% undoubtful. Anecdotes told from the father’s perspective would simply provide an additional point of view (what it’s like living with a crazy bitch from an adult’s point of view).
    …
    also, really, what excuse does Deb even have for turning out like this? In the old timeline, Tina had a horrible mother of her own to “thank” for how overly prude she was. Was Deb’s dad a crazy pastor or something?

    Well, lookie there! We finally see Jacob’s dad!

    Though, we still have about five more strips to go.
    What could possibly go down? Either Deb will try and attack Tina and her family to get her son back, or the dad will explain why he’s been away for so long, and the reason he and Deb split…

    @Mole204 She literally assaulted a cameraman on live TV! Of course she’s gonna get arrested. Are you even a fan, or do you just come here to start shit?

    The media morality bill goes poof, partly because NNS won’t make any big world changes, party so that Joel doesn’t have to mind what he’s saying. It wouldn’t have stopped ‘free speech’ anyway. Paid her bail? Does that mean that Deb’s a felon now? 😀 Jacob has a dad? And from the look of him it wasn’t some one-nighter with a college professor to get to pass. I’m sure this is very heartwarming and a win for the side or good or something, but Deb’s in jail and I find that funnier. I hope she doesn’t get shanked when Jessica Sullivan starts a food fight with her. Does this mean Jakob is moving to Wisconsin- without any hijinks with Jenny and Erik?

    So Jacob’s dad has finally arrived I see. Okay, he seems friendly enough. But we still need to know if his life is stable enough for him to take care of Jacob. We still have less than one week left of this strip, so hopefully, Jacob’s dad tells his side of the story as to why he and Deb divorced.

    I know this ending is a good one, but I’m under the impression that Deb intentionally kept their son from him. Like… borderline kidnapped their son.

    I was hoping we’d see Jacob’s dad in this storyline, and I couldn’t be any happier 🙂
