@Jim — Nick might have to provide one if the horror stories about police holding cells are true at all.

I’ve gotta say, as a Cape Fear parody, this arc didn’t really work, because Nick just isn’t menacing enough to be a convincing villain. He’s more pathetic and weedy than menacing and threatening.

However, that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the arc. It may not have been a very good Cape Fear parody, but it WAS a fun, lighthearted romp, with a happy ending and some emotional development for Kevin. Besides, this lighter tone suits the characters and the setting much better than a “thriller” setting would.

Now that’s what I call a happy ending.

Mole204 – I mean I never said I wanted Kevin to go back to being “evil”, I just thought maybe there would’ve been a scenario where Kevin lost his cool and briefly resorted to acting like the brute he used to be. I was thinking it would be like an “inner demons” kind of thing where Kevin, in an attempt to be a better person, tries to hide a more darker side of him but all the constant torment from bigger a-holes like Nick slowly causes said side to break free.

Jayster- yeah, forgot that, I half expected Keven to snap, put on the sunglasses, and Become The Evil. Or Nick would get them all hunted down by First Keven. After all, when would Nick ever be used again?

This was nothing like a tense horror suspense movie. Keven is nearly human, though he’s one step forward, two steps back as soon as he opens his yap. Amber actually has a few good moments, mostly committing violence. This wasn’t Cape Fear, this was a “rom-com”. Not complaining about that, though.

I’m wondering if maybe one day, we’ll see Kevin reach a breaking point and unleash any sort of repressed rage he might have been building up. It would be an interesting call-back to his original characterization (or at least his personality early in the reboot) and perhaps maybe to show that change isn’t something to force upon oneself or that it isn’t instantaneous. I don’t know, it’s just a theory of mine.

Got to say, that was an entertaining arc. And it’s good to see Kevin opening up more about his insecurities.
