So when are we going to see zeke again?

Anywho, I hope this guy keeps having bad things happen to him whenever metal goes in directions he feels compelled to tell people he doesn’t like. Like, say, Extreme and Mr. Big having hits in 1992; Zeke looks like the kind of guy who has very pointed opinions on hair metal and “Bill and Ted-rock”, for lack of a better term for Extreme’s genre.

@Plocb: The fun thing about St. Anger is that you can play along with Lars at home. Just grab a saucepan and something to hit it with!

I guess fans just preferred the “10 minute song, 30 seconds of lyrics” of old Metallica.

Maybe cause I came into the fandom later, but I never understood why people hated on the Black Album. Compared to stuff like “Ride the Lightning” and Kill em All,” it was a breath of fresh air.

    Now, “St. Anger”…

I remember when the “black album” came out. I liked it. I think bands get into a hard place with fans.

Make too many albums in the same style and people are “This sounds just like all the other albums! Can’t they do anything different?!”

When they try something different, people are all “What was wrong with the way they sounded before?! Why did they have to change and ruin it?!”

Zeke is the kind of person that would send death threats to Rebecca Black for that Friday song.

Ok, Zeke getting his just deserts with the truck did admittedly make me audibly kek, I like how cartoonishly over-the-top it was but I still think all strips featuring him are pretty much interchangeable. Hopefully this is the last time we see him for a while.

Ah yes, I remember the original version of this strip. The new version is basically the same, except Zeke receives a much more violent — and therefore much more satisfying — comeuppance for his jackassery. Thumbs up!

@TheJayster49 Nah, probably just stayed on the truck grill for a few states until the driver sprayed him off with a hose. 😆

@Mole204, that’s standard for “Sunday” color comics generally, or at least so I remember from when we still got a dead-tree newspaper. It fills out the space next to the title banner.

    Off to never-never land.

He acted without integrity, and no regrets.

Tabitha – allow me to recommend the drop kick as the preferred method of ejecting creeps from the shop.

5 gets you 15 Zeke grows up to get an hour-long show on either FOX News or MSNBC…

Is it wrong of me to want to tie Zeke to a chair and play Chopin and Bach for 6 hours?
Does anyone else think that JB still uses the top two panels for a “stand-alone but still part of the rest of the page” comic? If Zeke’s whole selection process is to tick off his parents, then what music does he like? Has he even encountered it? And does he deserve to be a band member of the Doorknobs?

So Zeke’s probably gonna take some of that early Kevin (in THIS incarnation) “insane things happen/how are you still alive” comeuppances going forward? I can see that going well.

I LOLed at the end there. I wasn’t expecting that.

Everyone’s a critic, and Zeke really doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.

Oh no, I hope he didn’t die *wink*
