I like Ash’s punchline better from the earlier version. “How long til your dad fixes the stuck lock on your front door?” reads funnier than… Katy intentionally wanting Ash to do the ladder schtick? It’s like a reversal of the Total Recall strip.
I don’t get the ladder. What’s the joke?

Katey’s not wrong, but she still seems the sort who should have things explained to her, not be the one explaining anything.
