Heh. Probably too late, but the first edition of a funny little tabletop role-playing game got published in 1992. And I think poor Denise might find herself taking certain aspects of it all too seriously…

Poor Denise…so hard to be a hippie in a yuppie world.

In the 90s we had wars that were over before you knew they started. Now we have wars that began before the soldiers fighting in them were born.

If you thought the Iraq War was suspiciously short, you guys, don’t worry. Check back in a decade. (Then another one, then ANOTHER one…)

Denise just wants the world to stop going wrong. Jeff and Clair just want to survive the world. It’s rough out there, best leave things up to the professionals.
Denise’s heart is in the right place, it’s just not acclimatized to struggle and savagery high school.

While I unfortunately cannot take my mind off of rising gas prices, I’ve pretty much just blocked out everything related to the dong measuring contest we’ve been having with the Middle East since… apparently 1990.

Denise: one of the few caring souls in a sea of apathy. And the Gulf War started and ended pretty quickly.

Yep. See these people every day. It’s not a thing they grow out of.
