Too bad Denise isn’t having dinner with Joel’s family. The closest they get to New Age is “probably” having crystal glasses in the china cabinet. Let the earth-friendly train wreck begin!
At least he’s TRYING. I remember the last time(s) Joel went out with Denise, he had his head down and generally sounded more skeptical.
I also noticed that Joel also appears to find her weird solely based on her personality rather than her appearance. My memory might be messing with me, but I do remember Joel saying he found Denise weird because of the way she dressed (the Vapor Wear notwithstanding). So this is definitely a nice improvement for his character.

I also still stand by my statement that it’s hard to care about Joel trying to find a girlfriend.
Like I said, we ALL know he’s gonna end up with Michelle, so his current attempts to get lucky just end up becoming foregone conclusions.
