The US Government considered him an ally in the “War on Drugs” despite Noriega having built his fortune on drugs, and the CIA knew about this but did nothing about it because as long as he was there, they could focus on making white parents afraid of minorities. In 1989 the USA invaded Panama and deposed Noriega, while committing blatant human rights violations on the citizens, the whole thing was condemned by the UN, it’s one of the reasons why the Reagan and Bush years were far from the glory days some people say they were.
Which brings me to my next point: jeezie creezie, Joel.
